The KSWF Held Tribute Evening in Memory of Ken Saro-Wiwa

Over the weekend, as parts of events marking the 22 years since the death of writer and environmentalist, Ken Saro-Wiwa and eight Ogoni activists, the Ken Saro-Wiwa Foundation in Port Harcourt held an evening of poetry in honor of them.

The evening was headlined by four distinguished writers based in the Garden City. Dr. Obari Gomba who is a lecturer at the University of Port Harcourt and multiple award winning poet had the evening with journalist and poet, Mr Patrick Naagbaton. Dr. Orike Didi and Mr Humphrey Ogu both shared their poetry and ideas of the personality of Ken Saro-Wiwa.

Published and unpublished poets from the city were present to pay tribute to a man they barely met but whose impact was tremendous. Annah  Dornbubari, Edwina Aleme also called Neofleotry, George Zurabei, Ephraim Emmanuel, Saro Ogumba, Aso Dornu Adookor and more delivered beautiful poetry.
