Ogoni

The Movement for the Survival of the Ogoni People (MOSOP) has releasesd a three-day programme of activities in remembrance of the fallen heroes of Ogoni who paid the supreme price that we would be liberated. The activities submitted by the Planning and Organising Committee and approved by the MOSOP Steering Committee would climax on November 10, 2017. The activities lined up to make the event remarkable include Interactive Session with Ogoni Youths, Memorial Lecture and Candle Light Procession (Night Vigil) and would be held from Wednesday, November 8 to Friday, November 10, 2017. They are to be organised at the Peace and Freedom Centre, Bori-Ogoni and No. 24 Aggrey Road, Port Harcourt respectively.

The Ogoni Martyr’s Day is an annual event observed since 1996.The 2017 event is the 21st anniversary. It is observed to commemorate the death of the over two thousand Ogoni citizens including a generation of the Ogoni leadership that were murdered in cold blood by the Nigerian State over our just and legitimate campaign for justice for not only the Ogoni people but also other minorities around the world.

We are thus calling on all sons and daughters of Ogoni at home and abroad including friends of Ogoni around the world to participate in the activities.
